My first dedicated goth look as a new member in the community (to go see the Backrooms movie yayyyy Kane pixels!!!)

Question for you all:
Goth is music based, but not entirely music — what else do you believe makes Goth what it is?
I heard a take I really liked that said it's also an outlook. To be goth is to embrace the strange and morbid and taboo, to be weird and to love that you are.

p.s., just joined this subreddit so I'm still getting familiar with the rules. trying my best to follow them, but please point me in the right direction if I'm doing something wrong!

Pretty much what it says in the title. The Cure is my fave band and I'd be interested in something similar with a female lead singer. Other faves are Sisters of Mercy and Vision Video if that helps

Yo so long story short I've saved up some cash and am travelling across the the states from Salt lake city all the way into to Canada Toronto. Wonder if i could get any cool bars/ venues to hit up, scenes to check out n shit. Big into my old 80s new wave, Goth and Punk. ATM im hitting up Salt Lake City, Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit and Toronto. I'm gonna be backpacking, getting lifts with friend's and staying in hostels and friend's couches. Any ideas or pointers would be amazing!

Im not sure if this is the right subreddit for this but my dad got me a siouxsie and the banshees shirt for my birthday and it has siouxsie sioux in the middle with the star of david. Im not jewish and i am not educated on any of this but i am worried its distasteful or something for me to wear it considering im not jewish. I want to make sure before i wear it.
